Tell us a bit more about your idea.
This will be a website that is designed for young travelers of a wide age range. There will be a set of menus including a range of traveling subjects e.g. Top spots, budget, Health, Profiles, Forum
People will be able to sign up, make a profile if they want and this will be optional through a check box. They could just make a forum account and then post ideas or questions in the correct sub forum for that country.
People can become promoted and be made moderators and site admin to help with the community.
How will your idea make a difference to people’s lives?
Young travelers who have a question, be it vague, obscure, or very popular will be able to search for the answer on this site. They will also be able to ask questions, and Private message others who may be their aquired traveling freinds.
This site can be a central hub for travelers from all different countries who want to keep in contact.
The site is not a company as such and will receive donations to continue running, like many computer forums do. There will be no bias information from the site as it is not trying to sell any tours or trips.
There can be an option to track which countries somebody is visiting if they want this to happen. This can help to keep freinds in contact with eachother.
There will be privacy options if people don´t want thier details to be shared.
Yes your thinking, this is starting to sound very similar to facebook. However this is purely for travelers and traveling related subjects.
How long would it take to make your idea a reality?
The best part of a year, depending on how popular the site became.
Do you have any concerns with making your idea happen?
That there is not already an unknown all in one site out there somewhere. I know that there are lots of individual sites to do with traveling, mainly the companys selling trips e.g. realgap.com
